Sportfishing and Diving in the Pacific Baja

Just off the coast of Guerrero Negro in Baja California, Mexico, lies an island with its surrounding waters teeming with fish. Cedros Island is a popular sportfishing destination for lovers of the sport who normally come to visit in the fishing months of June through October. Due to its distance from the Baja peninsula and the conservation efforts of the locals, the fishing grounds around Cedros have been kept intact and remain pristine.

Fish, eat, sleep, repeat. This will be your routine during your stay on the island. Your day starts bright and early with coffee or tea, and a light breakfast if you’re inclined. After a quick ride over to the marina, you are off in search for your first catch in open ocean. Return to your comfy island accommodations in the afternoon and relax while your crew take care of your gear and the day’s catch. A tasty snack will be waiting for you to whet up your appetite for dinner. You can choose to chill at the hotel or go for a guided tour of Cedros Island. Then it’s off to bed after dinner for another great day of fishing.

No Bad Days

Your first and last days on the island are your arrival day and departure day, respectively. Do let us know if you’d like to go fishing on these days and we’ll arrange it for you.

The local economy of Cedros Island is largely dependent on commercial fishing and salt production.  Fifteen years ago, the locals started to develop sport fishing around Cedros Island to generate an alternative source of income and create a more sustainable livelihood for the community. Your captain is one of those sportfishing pioneers in Cedros, so just let him know what you wish to catch and he will take you to the good spots.

There are operators on the island who accept only a certain type of clientele. Choose wisely, go with someone who welcomes everyone.
